Sharing Knowledge
Julie’s previous London workshops have focused on formal anatomy instruction, but this year, by popular demand, Julie has agreed to offer a more asana based workshop. As always, Julie will weave anatomy into her instructions to help students understand how to create strong, spacious and beautiful poses, although no previous anatomy experience is required. Teachers will be especially interested in Julie’s sequencing, which starts with fairly simple movements that students of all levels and abilities can try. She then integrates the movements into more complex patterns, which gradually builds the strength, flexibility and awareness needed to do more challenging poses and go deeper into the practice.
Each of the two days will include a wide range of asana for a fully rounded practice and exploration of applied anatomy for the whole body in asana practice. Saturday will begin at our foundation, the feet, and work up through the legs to the pelvis and spine. Sunday will continue with the focus on the spine, moving up to the neck and spread of awareness out to the shoulders and arms. During each asana practice we will, from time to time, widen the lens to awareness of the whole body within the pose, the ultimate intention in all practice.
Uptake for Julie’s workshops is usually rapid, so early booking is advised, when you will also get the advantage of the early bird price.
