Fabiano Culora

Fabiano’s relationship with Yoga began in 1995 as a student of traditional Hatha forms. This companionship has taken his practice down many paths meeting various styles, as his bodymind needs shifted through his life journeys. As a facilitator he now offers students support from a release based, somatic perspective to yogic enquiries. He has a regular class In Leeds which he titles ‘A Somatic Approach to Yoga.’ He is registered with ISMETA.

Fabiano completed a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of London and moved into dance and movement work inspired by the Somatic research evolving. Alongside performing he completed a comprehensive (mat and equipment) Pilates teacher training at Trinity Laban (affiliated to the Pilates Foundation UK), trained with the Sivanada school in India and Zero Balancing in UK. He continues to explore structural/energetic integration from a holistic perspective.

Fabiano is a Somatic Movement Therapist and Integrative Bodyworker (Dip.IBMT, RSMT, Body&Earth). His individual and group sessions explore bodymind connectivity, experiential anatomy and the relationship between expressive moving arts and therapeutic processes. A movement practitioner/reflective researcher in Higher Education since 2002, Fabiano’s pedagogical perspective is that teaching is a craft in continual refinement, where students’ individual journeys inspire process. He is currently on faculty at the Institute for Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Yoga Campus. He has taught throughout the UK, Europe, as well as USA, Russia and Iceland.

Fabiano has been practicing as a bodyworker for the past 12 years. He has worked with many people in need of physical, emotional and psychological support. Re-patterning skills acquired in rehabilitative Pilates, Yoga Therapy, Body Mind Centering and Somatic Psychology support his work, wherein he invests with deep respect for the transformational possibilities that arise through aware relational practices. Fabiano’s personal ongoing practice of Authentic Movement underpins his work as a therapeutic witness and compassionate teacher.
