Relax and Renew™: How to teach Restorative Yoga, Level 1

Learn the art and skill of teaching restorative yoga postures and deep, complete relaxation with one of the world's foremost authorities on restorative yoga.

Judith L with student in restorative backbend 2

Course Description

We work very hard in our lives, and, while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga postures help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited. A few of the measurable results of relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure and the improvement of immune function, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination and the reduction of muscle tension and general fatigue.

Course Structure

30 contact hours of live online training taught over 6 days.

Days 1 and 6 will be shorter days led by Judith only.

Days 2 to 5: On these days the first session will be led by Judith’s daughter, Lizzie Lasater, Restorative yoga teacher, supported by Judith’s assistants. These will include demonstrations of pose set up, practice of them and also time to review the prior day. In these sessions students will be put into small groups in breakout rooms to work on pose set-up supported by Judith's assistants – this will give everyone lots of practice setting up the poses. After a break, the next session will be led by Judith and include lecture, Q&A and discussion.

Meet the Teachers

Judith Hanson Lasater PhD., PT is credited with establishing restorative yoga as a modern yogic discipline and has taught Restorative Yoga teacher trainings around the world since 2001. Her Yogacampus intensives invariably sell out quickly. In this training we will learn the art and skill of teaching restorative yoga.

Raised in San Francisco, Lizzie Lasater learned yoga from her mother, Restorative yoga pioneer and Yoga Journal Magazine co-founder, Judith Hanson Lasater. A devotee of the magic of gratitude, Lizzie’s yoga workshops are full of joy. Grounded in her study of the Yoga Sutra and alignment principles, Lizzie teaches the radical pleasure of slow flow and Restorative yoga. Lizzie believes that we are all already Buddhas, we just don’t know it yet.
