students in a circle

The Yogacampus Yoga Teacher Training Diploma is one of the UK's top yoga teacher training courses, known for its non-dogmatic and authentic approach. At Yogacampus we honour the lineage and traditions of yoga as we bring it into the 21st century.

This 16-month in-depth teacher training will nurture your talents and help to develop you into a well-rounded and confident teacher. We have trained over 1000 successful teachers since 2003, so you will be in good hands. Rather than focussing on any particular school or mode of yoga, you will evolve your own unique style of teaching.

“It's actually been one of the best experiences of my life! It's been incredibly hard work at times and yet ultimately it's been a very rewarding and enriching journey with many unforgettable moments of hard graft, self-discovery, wonderful kinship and laughter!” - Amy Foster (Yogacampus graduate)

Yogacampus teacher training will deepen your knowledge of the science of yoga – anatomy, physiology, teaching techniques, philosophy – as we teach you how to use your artistic creativity in class planning and sequencing. Learn to teach asana, pranayama and meditation in your own individual way, from the heart, with awareness, compassion, sensitivity and clarity. By the end of the course you will be able confidently to share your own experience of yoga’s transforming power to your students with ease and confidence.

Here at Yogacampus, we are a true community. We have small intakes and teacher mentors so that we can help you become the best teacher that you can be. We believe that a great yoga teacher is a wonderfully unique combination of scientist, artist and spiritual guide, and seek to develop those abilities in each and every one of our students.

“The teachers absolutely made this course the fantastic experience it was and I cannot praise them enough. It really was a life changing experience." (Julia McGrath, Yogacampus York graduate)

What will I learn on the course?

Rather than focussing on a particular style of yoga, you will learn all you need to know to become a well-rounded teacher:

  • asana principles and creative asana teaching
  • practical anatomy and physiology
  • creative class sequencing
  • teaching skills and techniques
  • subtle and energetic anatomy
  • pranayama and meditation
  • the history and philosophies of yoga
  • Sanskrit pronunciation.

You can find more information about the syllabus, course structure and content in the Course Prospectus, downloadable below.

How will I learn?

The 15 core modules will be delivered by a combination of live-online and face-to-face training days, supported with regular check-ins, quizzes, videos, podcasts, and reading materials as part of our unique online learning platform. This way, your learning will seamlessly integrate with your life.

“The thing I liked most about the course is that there was no dogma. It combined a pragmatic and scientific approach with philosophy and art, we weren't forced to follow a particular set of beliefs or methods. We were entirely free to explore yoga in our own way which enabled me to follow my own instincts and develop my own values as a teacher and practitioner." (David Balfe - Yogacampus graduate)

You will also have a dedicated contact teacher who will guide and mentor you throughout the course.

All candidates must be computer literate and have access to the internet for some modules and for the submission of written work and assignments.

Who are the course teachers?

We have a dedicated teacher training board of Amanda Latchmore and Sonia Perry. Together they have many years of teaching and teacher training experience. They teach the majority of the course content, but we also draw on the expertise of other leading teachers, including Fabiano Culora, Chloe McKay, Dr. Graham Burns, Paul Arnold, Jane Craggs, Sophie Carr, and Kay Manby. Your contact teacher is likely to be a graduate of the course.

Who is the course for?

We welcome anyone who has a passion for yoga and wants to share it with the world. We look for a minimum of 3 years’ regular and consistent yoga practice, preferably through class attendance. However, on occasion we are also open to people who can demonstrate a commitment to practice of at least 2 years, ideally including one to one study and/or attendance on yoga retreats or other trainings. You will need to complete our application form below (including your two references) and e-mail it to
