The Yogacampus Teacher Training Diploma, established in 2003 and offered in London, York and Manchester, is an 16 month (200 contact hours) course run by leading teachers from a variety of yoga traditions, all highly respected in their field of expertise. It is one of the UK’s top teacher training courses, known for its non-dogmatic and authentic approach. We recognise that yoga, from its earliest roots in ancient India, has continually grown and developed – and continues to grow and develop as we bring its teachings into the 21st century. Our course is registered with Yoga Alliance (RYS 200 hours), the Independent Yoga Network and the Register of Exercise Professionals and graduates can teach both in the UK and internationally. You can find out more about the Diploma course by clicking here and can download the course prospectus below.

Taster Day Programme

2:0pm – 2:30 pm: Experiential anatomy with Sarah Litton: A glimpse of how we can translate theoretical knowledge of anatomy into a physical experience, and how we can use this experiential knowledge to make yoga practice safer and more effective. We will look at one symmetrical pose to diagnose asymmetry and one asymmetrical asana to bring symmetry; the effect on the mind of a posture in balance or imbalanced will be observed.

2:30pm to 3pm: Pranayama with Catriona Brokenshire: A brief overview of the definition and benefits of pranayama (breathing techniques), followed by a practical session comprising two classic techniques to improve lung capacity, and balance the physiological and energy bodies.

3pm to 4pm: Video screening and Q&A with a graduate of the Yogacampus Teacher Training Diploma.

Yogacampus is an excellent yoga school. The training was extremely thorough. All the modules are taught by experts in their field. The emphasis is always on safety and teaching from personal exploration. I would absolutely recommend this course as a foundation for becoming a competent, confident and safe yoga teacher.
