Yoga Therapy Diploma Taster Day - Islington
Join our 2 hour taster session for the Yogacampus Yoga Therapy Diploma. We believe Yoga Therapy is both an art and a science. Our 22-month 550+ hour course reflects this by teaching a comprehensive and in-depth perspective of yoga therapy whilst supporting individual learning styles.
Have you ever thought about training as a yoga therapist but are not sure what the training involves? Or, do you have a particular condition that may be helped by Yoga Therapy and you are interested in finding out more about what Yoga Therapy is and how it can help?
If so, join us and get a taste of the Yogacampus Yoga Therapy Diploma. Our course is one of very few UK accredited Yoga Therapy training courses. We have been training yoga therapists since 2006, and developed the current course in 2011 when National Occupational Standards for Yoga Therapy were established in the UK.
This taster afternoon will give you a glimpse of what awaits you on your journey to becoming a fully qualified yoga therapist with Yogacampus.
Open Day Programme, led by board member Penny Roberts:
• Overview of yoga therapy: Definitions of yoga therapy and how it is different from yoga teaching.
• The current training requirements.
• Overview of the Yogacampus Yoga Therapy Diploma course.
• Experiential application of aspects of a yoga therapy assessment.
• Brief status update on yoga therapy in the NHS.
• What happens after graduating? As told by one of our graduates.

Our Diploma is taught by a core faculty of widely respected teachers and yoga therapists, supplemented by experts in relevant fields, each bringing their differing perspectives to the course. The training provides a balanced mix of theory and practical work, with an emphasis on viewing a person as in a holistic way, so that students gain an understanding of how to tailor a practice to an individual rather than relying on prescriptive practices for particular conditions.
The development of practical skills is based on the student’s own explorations and experience of working with clients with medical conditions, supported by supervision from tutors and mentors.
Our Diploma is accredited by the “British Council of Yoga Therapy”: http://www.bcyt.co.uk and graduates of the Diploma are also eligible to register with the “Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council” – http://www.cnhc.org.uk. The next course will run in October 2020.
Those interested in our Yoga Therapy Diploma can also gain and insight into the profession through attending our low cost Yoga Therapy Clinic, which is held every Thursday afternoon at The Life Centre, Islington. This is the only clinic in the UK to offer yoga as therapy, while at the same time providing supervised clinical experience to trainee yoga therapists.
What our students say
My favourite part was the experiential exercises. Learning about small movements in the body, self awareness and healing the movements in another person. I felt the course was taught clearly with structure and really well facilitated. Thank you! Michelle O. on Yoga Therapy and Experiential Anatomy, August 2015
