“In the end we’ll all become stories.” – Margaret Atwood

Jivamukti Yoga is a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings (The Jivamukti Method). In any Jivamukti class you might come across, incorporating elements of spiritual teachings or dharma talks is a key ingredient in delivering the class. You will find that a good yoga teacher has a powerful way of delivering these messages in a form that is digestible and resonates with the students; enter story-telling. Good teachers are good story tellers, and have the ability to tap into creative natures to deliver a message through practice.

So how do the key ingredients of a story become interwoven into a yoga class?

In this workshop designed specifically for yoga teachers and trainee teachers, we will develop our story telling skills through the following learning outcomes:

  • Learn how to plan a lesson around a story
  • Practice an asana class on ‘Myths in Yoga’
  • Develop your voice and delivery of a story
  • Creative ideas and vision boards for classes
  • Myths and story-telling lesson plan resources will be available
  • Group discussion work

Suitable for student teachers and teachers wanting to develop new creative ways for lesson planning and delivery in classes and workshops. The morning will be physical practice and the afternoon will explore vision boards and group work.
