Kirtan, Bhakti Yoga and the Yoga of Sound

Discover your voice and the power of sound on your body, emotions and sense of wellbeing, build confidence to teach and share sound in classes and workshops

Course Information

Deepen your understanding and discover the power of Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga for your own practice or to share with others.

Connect more deeply to your voice and the power of sound on your body, emotions and sense of wellbeing. Build confidence to teach and share sound in classes and workshops. Using yoga asana, voicework and Kirtan, we will immerse ourselves in mantra and our voices as tools for transformation and peace.

Whether during yoga practice or singing with a group, repeating Sanskrit mantras creates a meditative and uplifted mental state, and helps to melt inhibitions that can suppress our voices and expression. It can take us deep inside to a place of peace and stillness. Some people feel a sense of calm, others a sense of elation. Using our voice is a great way to unblock emotions and a sense of feeling stuck.

Musical duo Bhavana (Narayani and Mat Baker) will also be running a An Evening of Kirtan from 19:45–21:30. Bookings made through The Life Centre here.

What our students say

Narayani is lovable, engaging and her voice is brilliant and strong. She is humble and unassuming. I felt challenged and inspired to rise to new places because of the strength of her voice and insight, and the warmth of the group that came together under her skilled facilitation. Please don’t miss her if she travels nearby to you. Her workshop is a rare and beautiful experience. A Narayani student , June 2015
