Yoga, the Brain, and Dementia
In this online course we review the multiple ways that the brain and nervous system are impacted by dementia. We introduce practices in mindfulness, somatic therapy, yoga and diet that can possibly stave off the onset of the disease.

You probably have known a friend or family member who has suffered from debilitating dementia. The onset of dementia is rising rapidly worldwide affecting 1 in 10 people over the age of 65. While the actual cause of dementia is not fully understood, many cases are precipitated by cardiovascular restriction, hearing loss, lack of sleep, feelings of isolation, and stress.

- You will learn numerous body-mind centering practices—movement for the neck, skull and brain; improved listening skills; dietary regulation; and exercise for the respiratory system—that when combined together and practiced over time can counter the risks of dementia.
