Integration Course: The Embodied Path - Resting in Being, Awakening to Awareness

A contemplative integration course exploring how authentic teaching emerges from embodied presence and experience.

This course module is designed to help students create a blueprint onto which they map their learning onto their existing learning and experience. In small groups (max 24 students), this element of the Advanced Teacher Training allows time for students to bring new knowledge and skills into their individual developmental pathway.

Module 4

This course is designed to be scheduled in parallel with the other course modules that make up the 300hr training. There will be multiple Integration courses scheduled each year.

Course Orientation and Intention

The Embodied Path is a contemplative integration course for experienced yoga teachers who are ready to move beyond technique, accumulation, and performance, and to rest more fully into embodied presence.

The course supports teachers in the gradual unfolding and revealing of their authentic being, allowing teaching to arise from lived experience and presence rather than persona, role, or shadow performance. Teaching is approached as both a relational responsibility and a personal calling.

Grounded in restorative practices, somatic embodiment, stillness, meditation, and inquiry-based pedagogy, the course emphasises rest, listening, and relational awareness. These practices create the conditions for clarity, integrity, and self-trust to emerge naturally.

The Embodied Path approaches yoga as an ongoing personal and spiritual journey, understood as a continual returning toward one’s equanimous nature.

Through reflection, dialogue, and embodied inquiry, the course supports sustainable practice, authentic teaching, and embodied confidence that develops gradually over time.

Distinctive Contribution

Within the Advanced Teacher Training programme, The Embodied Path offers a learning environment that emphasises contemplative depth, embodied integration, and reflective teaching practice.

While many advanced trainings expand technical knowledge or specialised methodologies, The Embodied Path focuses on the development of the teacher through embodied presence, contemplative practice, and relational awareness.

You are supported in developing the capacity to:

  • remain present and responsive while teaching
  • facilitate inquiry rather than deliver instruction
  • trust your own experience
  • cultivate ethical and relational awareness
  • sustain long term personal practice and realise innate wisdom

The intention is to support the gradual maturation of teaching identity through embodiment, reflection, and contemplative practice.

Distinctive Approach

This Integration Course differs from more technique or framework based offerings in several key ways:

Embodiment precedes pedagogy Deepen your own embodied experience through somatic exploration, restorative practices, and contemplative inquiry before examining how teaching emerges from that experience.

Rest and stillness as foundational practices  Practices that cultivate restoration, regulation, and awareness are approached as central practices rather than supplementary tools.

Inquiry-based learning. Teaching is approached as the facilitation of inquiry rather than instruction, emphasising listening, observation, responsiveness, and mutuality. Within the container held by the teacher, learning emerges through respectful co-creation and supports the development of your self-agency.

Relational awareness  Communication, touch, boundaries, and consent are approached as ethical and relational responsibilities in teaching.

Teaching as dharma Teaching is understood as an evolving expression of personal practice, integrity, and service.

The course is intentionally reflective and process-oriented and is best suited to mature practitioners who are comfortable with slowing down, uncertainty, and experiential learning.
