Yoga as a State of Being: An integrated approach to the advanced study of yoga (300hr)
Before the Course:
- You have completed your foundational teacher training and have been teaching for a while, you've done some specialist courses.
- You have gathered knowledge - asana, philosophy, anatomy, breath, but it can feel compartmentalised rather than integrated.
- You are open to a subtle and more expanded experience. You want integration. You want your teaching to reflect the depth you feel inside.
After the Course:
- You feel more confident about creating the environment for the state of yoga to arise.
- Your experience of presence helps you guide others in being present themselves.
- Your learning becomes integrated rather than assembled.
- You feel intellectually stimulated and are inspired to bring sensory experience into your practice.
- Body, breath, philosophy and professional practice no longer sit in separate compartments, they inform one another naturally.
- You understand not only how practices work, but why.
- You speak about yoga with clarity and authority, whether in studios, workshops or professional environments.
The 300-Hour Advanced Teacher Pathway
Yoga as a State of Being is an integrated approach to advanced study designed for developing the conditions that allow the state of yoga to occur, in your practice, and your teaching.
Yoga is not just the practices themselves. It is the residue of those practices, the integration of practices that create the “magic” of this state.
The 300-hour pathway provides a structured framework for that integration.
Rather than adding more techniques, it brings coherence to what you already know, through four Core courses, an Integration Cohort, and carefully chosen Electives that allow you to refine your own developmental pathway.
You are not trained within a single method or personality-led system. Instead, you learn within a collective of internationally respected educators, each bringing decades of experience and scholarship to their field.
As a not-for-profit yoga training organisation, Yogacampus prioritises educational integrity, depth and accessibility over commercial growth. This is education-first training designed to support your long-term development.
You may begin with a single Core course and build gradually, or enrol in the full pathway from the outset. The structure is flexible, the integration is intentional.
Course Structure
Build over time…Enjoy the flexibility of completing the courses according to your schedule, deciding which elective components suit your needs best. The 300 hours of the full course is made up of the four Core courses. the cohort-based Integration course, and the Electives that you choose.
Core Courses = 140 hours
Being Yoga: A Living Tradition (20 hours) In many entry level yoga training courses, the questions of what yoga is, and the precise philosophical ideas which underpin it, are addressed through the piecemeal study of extracts from a small number of selected textual sources. The state of yoga will also be explored in relation to its physical and mental health benefits, from the perspective of a contemporary scientific approach. The concept of integration will also be examined in relation to an approach for learning and teaching others.
Being Yoga: Through Movement and the Body (50 hours) This course module will investigate the state of yoga through movement and the scientific perspective. This course module will have a strong somatic focus, to discern awareness through the lens of the body.
Being Yoga: Through the Breath and Meditation (50 hours) This course is a deep dive into the inner practices and how they contribute to the state of yoga. These primarily include pranayama and meditation, but also other practices such as mudra, bandhas, yoga nidra, and restorative. We explore the practices as separate elements, but also the ways in which they integrate.
- Being Yoga: Through Personal and Professional Relationships (20 hours): Understand how practices that create the conditions for the state of yoga can be implemented for contemporary use. This course aims to help you to apply your yoga skills and understanding more effectively outside of a traditional yoga setting.
Integration = 90 hours
Cohort Integration course (9x monthly sessions + self-study): This course module is designed to help you create a blueprint onto which you map your learning from the Core Courses onto your existing learning and experience. Spread over 9 months, the intention is to allow time for you to bring new knowledge and skills into your individual developmental pathway. As you move through other course modules, the integration cohort includes an opportunity to reflect on areas where you would benefit from further study/integration/experience. This course is where the main assessment takes place.
Electives = 70 hours
- The course electives include 70 hours of individual choice of further study. The electives are designed to offer knowledge, skills, and inspiration to support personal development and professional career development. Click HERE for more detail about Electives.
By the end of the training, you will…
Deepen your own practice, and teach from this experience
Understand that developing the knowledge and skills referred to, and the ability effectively to communicate them, require embodiment within the teacher and that personal practice and exploration is required to explore and develop skills of awareness for your own self-regulation.
Teach from a deeper understanding of the state of yoga
You will be able to explain:
(i) how yogis have understood the state of yoga, and how that understanding has changed over time as part of a living tradition;
(ii) the correlations with current views on the physical and mental health benefits of yoga (particularly in relation to self-regulation and awareness).
Refine your teaching and to be able to use your skills beyond traditional yoga settings
i.) be able to articulate the framing of the integrated practice of yoga in the context of a modern concept of well-being;
ii) be competent in applying the principles of an integrated practice by selecting and teaching a range of practices (in both a yoga and non-yoga setting);
iii) be able to design practices adjusting for common conditions (with understanding of scope of practice as a yoga teacher).
Have had the opportunity to reflect and explore
Have reflected upon how to use these skills and qualities, and what resources are needed, to support your own personal development and professional career, and to be inspired to explore your potential within new environments or situations.
Meet the Faculty
We have gathered together a world-class faculty that form an outstanding team of international teachers who are experts in their field. Why these teachers? This is a collective of educators who, with their own individual talents and specialist skills, inspire us to explore the deep wisdom of our inner selves. How? By sharing their understanding in a way that helps us to recognise the state of yoga and how that state inspires us to be in the world.

Eligibility and Getting Started
Do I need a 200hr qualification in order to take part?
Individual elements of the course (except for the Integration Cohort) may be completed by anyone with an existing practice.
However, a 200hr teaching qualification and teaching experience are prerequisites for taking part in the full 300hr training.
Do I need to have completed previous trainings from specific yoga schools?
No, the course modules are respectful of and informed by yoga traditions, but are not tradition-bound. The courses are taught with an emphasis on principles and skills that are widely applicable.
What if my 200hr training was not Yoga Alliance accredited?
Please note if your initial teacher training is not registered with Yoga Alliance, completing this 300hr advanced teacher training does not automatically qualify you to register with Yoga Alliance.
Upon successful completion of the 300hr, graduates will be able to register as a RYT-500 provided their initial certificate is recognised by Yoga Alliance, please see Yoga Alliance for information on membership requirements).
If I'm not sure where to start, what would be recommended?
We suggest beginning with 'The State of Yoga: A Living Tradition'.
Structure & Flexibility
Do the core courses need to be done in a certain order?
No, though two of the core modules need to be completed before joining an integration cohort. We recommend starting with 'Being Yoga: A Living Tradition'.
If I enrol in a single course module now, can I still receive the full course discount later?
If you prefer to start with individual courses, we offer Flexible Enrolment: 4 Core courses individually + 70 hours of Electives separately and then join the Integration cohort for £1350.

Is it possible to start with individual course modules, and then decide to complete the full course?
Yes, that is absolutely fine - we encourage you to approach this learning in the way that suits you best. To count any completed elements toward a 300 hour qualification, these components need to be completed within three years.
What is the maximum length of time for completing the full 300hr training?
The full 300hr training must be completed within 3 years. Individual components may be spread out over more time if you are not interested in gaining certification.
What is the most efficient way of completing the training in the least amount of time?
Some people may wish to complete the 300 hours within a shorter time frame. Depending on individual independent study, the course may be completed in as few as four terms (about 15 months). The course prospectus contains an example schedule.
What are the qualifications for the various parts of the course?
If completing individual courses separately (not as part of the 300hr training), you will receive CPD hours from the Yoga Alliance.
Those successfully completing the full 300hr training (including the Integration Course)are eligible for a 300hr qualification accredited by Yoga Alliance.
Assessment & Commitment
How will I be assessed?
Though each of the modular courses includes some assessment (e.g. quizzes to check you have grasped the material), the main assessments take place within the Integration course. This includes teaching practice and feedback, written reflections, and a case-study.
What is the attendance policy?
All live sessions must be attended. We do understand that exceptional circumstances come up unexpectedly (e.g. illness, major family/work commitments). We will be happy to help arrange a catch up for sessions you may have missed, though please note that this involves paying the teacher separately for the 1:1 catch up.
