Being Yoga: Through Personal & Professional Relationships

The “state” of yoga has so many benefits and can be used much more widely in our lives. To become more effective in widening access to yoga practices, teachers need to know how to share simpler integrated Body-Breath-Mind practices, able to talk about the benefits in a professional and authoritative way, able to present themselves authentically and with wisdom outside of typical yoga settings.

The course explores yoga as a relational state — one that informs how we communicate, listen, lead, and respond in everyday life. Learn to share yoga in inclusive, accessible ways that widen access to its benefits across personal, professional, and interdisciplinary environments.

Being Yoga: Through Personal & Professional Relationships

Why this course is different

This course goes further by supporting real-time integration of learning into your personal and professional life.

Inspiring seminars with leading teachers are woven together through live group supervision and integration sessions with Dr Stanford Wong — medical doctor, yoga therapist, and yoga teacher. These sessions ensure that learning is not just understood intellectually, but embodied, applied, and personalised.

Through this distinctive structure, you are supported to:

  • Integrate seminar learning into your own intentions, relationships, and teaching contexts
  • Deepen understanding of scientific concepts in relation to life experiences such as stress, fatigue, resilience, and recovery
  • Develop the ability to clearly, confidently, and professionally explain the benefits of simple Body–Breath–Mind practices
  • Present yourself with authenticity, authority, and wisdom in diverse professional and community settings

In this course you will …

  • Have experience of using techniques of empathy and compassion to shift internal awareness, using observation as part of communication.
  • Learn how to re-frame self-regulation into co-regulation, from ‘me’ to ‘us’.
  • Understand ways to use language and embodiment in working with others.
  • Learn how to use your understanding of the principles and skills of body-breath-mind practices for use in your professional and personal life.
  • Engage in discussion with yoga teachers who are using body-breath-mind practices in their professional work outside traditional yoga settings.
  • Have reflected on how this learning can benefit your own personal and professional development, with new working ideas and opportunities.
  • Use coaching techniques to support the exploration of your aims and goals.
