Somatics offer a safe, fast, efficient and long-lasting way to release muscular contraction by retraining your nervous system. It unites modern neuromuscular science with ancient yogic wisdom. The movements are simple and accessible, yet deep and transformative. They can be seamlessly incorporated into any yoga or movement practice.

Meet the Teacher
Lisa Petersen is a somatics innovator, yoga therapist and teacher trainer. She imparts three Super Powers in her teaching: the curiosity of a child, the spirit of an explorer and the joy of movement. Lisa guides you into your own exquisite inner intelligence through skilful education using humour, integrity, clarity and compassionate presence.
Lisa’s teaching is informed by a rich understanding of embodiment, experiential anatomy and developmental movement patterns. She is passionate about finding the balance between being and doing, movement and stillness, strength and fluidity, discipline and freedom.
She has helped thousands of students move out of pain and tension and into ease and relaxation.
Lisa first trained at Vivekenanda Kendra (India’s most reputable Yoga Therapy hospital), before studying and co-teaching extensively with Donna Farhi. Her other long-term embodiment teachers include Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Amy Matthews. Her Hanna Somatic teachers include Brian Ingle, Maya Anderson and Martha Peterson. Lisa offers workshops and teacher trainings in Yoga, Somatics and Embodied Anatomy around the world.
