The methodology of Special Yoga shared in the Special Yoga for Special Children training course aims to provide you with the confidence and tools to encourage and enhance the child’s fullest potential to flourish.

Course Information

Special Yoga for Special Children is Special Yoga flagship course. The course was developed by Jyoti Jo Manuel who has led the path in the UK for the delivery of therapeutic yoga for children with special and additional needs for many years.

As a participant, you will be guided through highly effective and accessible strategies for integrating the remedial advantages of Special Yoga methodology into the lives of children with special and additional

With these skills you will have the ability to tailor this therapeutic intervention in various settings to the specific needs of the child or group you support. of special yoga’s unique and mindful practice that has supported thousands of children who are differently abled around the world.

We believe that all children are special and that all children deserve to experience inner peace, joy, comfort and fulfillment of their potential and purpose.

This comprehensive course is appropriate for sharing yoga with all children and young people with special and additional needs, including children with autism and ADHD, Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy and PMLD and other learning, developmental and physical challenges. We welcome you to join this course, regardless of your yoga skills. If however, you are on a path to teaching Special Yoga professionally, then this is the first step you need to take to join Special Yogas’s development programme and become a professional Special Yoga practitioner.

The course is accredited by Yoga Alliance and ASDAN and recognised by The British Wheel of Yoga. Please note that in order to qualify for the ASDN certificate, you will need to pay an additional £10.

Special Yoga’s methodology includes the classical yoga practices of movement, breathing, deep relaxation combined with sound, rhythm, massage and sensory integration techniques.

Further training
Following on from the 7 day Special Yoga for Special Children training, attendees are invited to join the Special Yoga Practitioner Development Programme.

This is continued learning (Special Yoga for Special Children Part 2) expanding on the tools and techniques experienced in the 7-day foundation course. It includes Mentoring and Peer to Peer support, evaluation and development of your own practice and practice with the children.

CPDs and further study build the overall training to 100 hours and once completed the Practitioner is invited to join the Professional Body of Special Yoga Practitioners. As the industry leader in delivery and training of Therapeutic Yoga for Children with Special Needs our overarching view is that the quality of delivery of the work is paramount. Our Special Yoga Practitioners Development Programme is geared to safeguard this quality and professionalism with our ongoing support, evaluation and training beyond qualification as a Special Yoga Practitioner.


You will receive a certificate of completion from Special Yoga and Yogacampus.
