Embodied Relax and Restore: Pratyahara
Join senior teacher Adelene Cheong for one of the series of modules exploring Restorative Yoga as an embodied process rather than a set of techniques. Modules can be done individually, or as part of The Embodied Relax and Restore Training (with the option of becoming certified). Each module stands alone, so you can choose the topics that resonate most with you—or complete all five plus mentoring to gain Embodied Relax and Restore Teacher Certification.
Pratyahara is often described as the withdrawal of the senses, yet in experience it is a natural settling into non-reactivity.
This module explores Pratyahara as an embodied state rather than a conceptual idea. You'll be guided to observe how sensory input, perception, and motor response interact, and how Restorative Yoga can support the inward turning of attention without force or suppression.
You will explore relationship between the Somatic Nervous System and the Autonomic Nervous System, offering insight into how deep rest becomes possible when sensory overwhelm diminishes.
This module explores:
- inquiry-based practices to refine sensory awareness
- perception and the processing of sensory input
- sensory receptors and motor response
- the relationship between somatic and autonomic nervous systems
- practical application of Pratyahara within Restorative Yoga
Guided restorative practices, somatic inquiry, experiential learning, and reflective integration
This is a process-based training. Learning unfolds through direct experience rather than memorisation or protocol.
- A 6-hour live, online module taught by senior Yogacampus teacher Adelene Cheong
- Guided practices that you can try in real time
- Open group discussion, practical exercies, and shared inquiry, with space to ask questions, reflect, and learn together
- A session recording will be made available afterward, so you can revisit the material at your own pace
- We encourage live attendance if possible, to benefit from group discussions, small group work, and interactive elements
- The option to take this as a standalone or continue through the series —with a pathway to Embodied Relax and Restore Certification
This training is for you if...
- you have completed Relax and Restore (or Relax and Renew) Level 1 or Level 2
- are seeking an alternative to courses that are technique-driven, fast-paced, or purely informational
Independent modules or part of a series
The training unfolds across five interrelated areas of exploration. While presented as distinct themes, each area informs and supports the others.
The modules can be taken independently or booked as a series. Those taking all five also have the option to gain Embodied Relax and Restore certification (see further below).
Certification Option
The full training offers a deep inquiry into somatic and neurological recalibration, regeneration, and repatterning, supporting rest as a lived, sustainable state of being. It is designed for practitioners and teachers who wish to refine their relationship with rest, presence, and perception — both personally and professionally.
For those wishing to proceed to certification as a Embodied Relax and Restore teacher, you will need to have taken all five modules and, in addition, to attend two mentoring sessions with Adelene (to be arranged directly with her, for £150).
