Why we’re dedicating a week to Meditation
Meditation is no longer a niche practice. It’s no longer something we whisper about in wellbeing circles or explore only on retreats. It’s a lifeline. A necessity.
Research by Hölzel et al. 2021 shows that compared to a control group, participants who took part in an 8 week mindfulness programme showed 'changes in gray matter concentration in brain regions involved in learning and memory processes, emotion regulation, self-referential processing, and perspective taking. And yet, despite these benefits, many of us still struggle to sit still, to be with ourselves, to begin.
So this July, we’re making space.
A space to pause, to re-learn how to breathe, and to explore the quiet power of meditation — not as another thing to master, but as a practice of remembering.
Whether you’re a teacher, a student, a therapist, or simply someone craving stillness, our Meditation Takeover week is here to support you with:
- Daily insights from expert teachers
- Recommended meditation practices and podcasts
- Deep dives into themes like presence, myth-busting, and emotional resilience
- A look at our two upcoming Meditation courses with expert teachers
At Yogacampus, we’ve always held meditation close to the heart of our work. Our approach is rooted in lived experience, not performance. In practices that honour the mind, body, and breath equally — and meet people where they are.
From our Foundations in Teaching Mindfulness Meditation course, developed by the late Michael Stone, to The Meditation Series with Graham Burns and Isabell Britsch; a modular training, designed to let you follow your curiosity. You can take individual modules that resonate most with your interests — from myth-busting and philosophical foundations to embodied practice — or complete all four to gain certification as a Yogacampus Meditation Teacher.
Wherever you are on your journey, this is your invitation to pause.
To soften.
To begin again.
Thanks for being part of our community
