Intelligent Use of Props

Developing confidence in why and how props can aid a students practice is the main aim of this workshop. This day is about learning new ideas and practicing with a range of props and equipment from straps, blocks, blankets, bolsters to the use of the wall.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Practice a range of key postures including standing, balancing, seated, and inversions
  • Develop confidence in practicing with props
  • Describe why props can aid development in practice as well as modifying
  • Develop lesson plans with props (Q&A format with the tutor)
  • Creatively use props
  • Develop group work for lesson plans

This workshop is suitable for yoga teachers and trainee teachers CPD development. The format of this day is physical with practice interwoven, followed by discussion and writing.

Andrea Kwiatkowski
Andrea has been teaching yoga since 2000, and is an Advanced Jivamukti teacher studying directly from Sharon Gannon and David Life. Andrea is also a Level 2 trained yin teacher under the guidance of Sarah Powers, and has qualified as a Restorative Yoga teacher with Judith Lasater. Andrea has been mentoring teachers and working for the BWY since 2008.

Myths, Storytelling and Creativity
Andrea will also be running a one-day workshop with Yogacampus on Friday 6th March to guide students in to tapping into creative natures, and develop story telling skills, with the intention of designing class lesson plans around a theme, myths and more. Find out more here.
