Meditation can feel like just another ‘worthy’ practice to add to the list. By exploring it with simple and practical tools and practices, learn how you can more easily make meditation a part of your daily routine – and reap the benefits of mind, heart and body.

Meditation doesn’t have to be complex or long-winded to have an impact or be profound. The very simplicity of some practices can produce deep and nurturing fruits. What is important is finding how you can express yourself through meditation. Encouraging that dialogue between the you that meditates – different every time – and the practice will be one of the aims of this day-long workshop. To achieve that, the day offers plenty of space for engaging in practices, discussions, questions and experimentation.

This experiential day workshop provides:

  • Seated, standing and walking meditations
  • Why meditate?
  • Principles of how to look after the body in meditation
  • The relationship between asana practice and meditation
  • The importance of creativity and imagination in our practice
  • Useful techniques and skills to keep in mind
  • Encouragement for finding our own way in meditating – and the confidence that comes with it
  • Suggestions of balancing practices, structuring teaching and your own practice
  • Comments on the language we use about meditation
  • Opportunities for discussion and questions
  • A time for exploration and wonder

At the end of the day, the hope for you is that you will feel fed, more confident in your own meditation practice and more creative in offering it as a part of your yoga teaching. You can’t transform something if you don’t know what’s there. Meditation can offer you another path for that discovery of what is there and so see what might be possible.
