It is long been known that emotions have a physiological impact on our bodies; Research conducted by HeartMath shows that the electromagnetic current of the heart is sixty times higher in amplitude than the field of the brain’s one. The heart’s electromagnetic field can be measured more than ten feet from the body. This energetic field pulses waves of energy carrying information whilst synchronising other processes in the body.

Modern medicine has come to believe that the heart is just a simple pump. Far from this view, the heart has played an important role in understanding the body since ancient times. Research by John and Beatrice Lacey in the 1060s and 1070s demonstrated that the heart was not just a simple pump but also an organ of great intelligence, with its own nervous system, decision-making powers, and connections to the brain. These researchers found that the heart is in constant communication with the brain, affecting how we perceive and react to the world.

In this two day workshop, we will explore how different emotions can affect the electromagnetic field of the heart, our energy levels, our mood and our interaction with other people.

This is called heart coherence, an important mechanism –known to be overlooked by modern medicine- which explains how the heart communicates with the brain and the rest of the organs in order to bring synchronicity into our life.

Sherezade will explain how hypersensitivity can be an extraordinarily important trait in those experiencing anxiety and low mood. She will guide students into an exploratory journey into our heart’s ability to feel, communicate, and remember.

Each day will be filled with practices aimed to explore, learn and experience how it feels when the heart and the brain are in coherence.

The workshop is aimed at:

  • Yoga teachers and Yoga therapists
  • Healthcare professionals that would like to expand their knowledge in this area and with a special interest in cardiology and cardiovascular health
  • This workshop is also suitable for those affected by or recovering from (cardiac rehabilitation) cardiovascular disease that would like to know more about their energetic heart and the importance of Heart-brain coherence in their recovery.

Some previous study of anatomy of the Cardiovascular system is helpful but not essential.
