Breath is the nexus that connects body, mind and prana in our yoga practice.

Yet many yoga practitioners, including many yoga teachers, don’t breathe as well as they might. In this 2-part training, we’re review the physiology and anatomy of breathing, then apply that information to understanding 12 different types of dysfunctional breathing. Yoga therapy is strong medicine, but it’s usually slow medicine. The exception is with breathing: when you can re-pattern the breath in a more functional manner, it can be life-changing within days.

This training will include lectures, Q+As, and practices that will include breath-based asana practices, along with a number of breathing exercises. In between the two meetings there will be some homework assignments to complete

A recording of this event will be shared with all participants for 21 days after the event.

This training is recommended for yoga teachers, yoga therapists and serious students, as well as health care professionals, holistic practitioners and those suffering from health conditions —from anxiety to asthma to heart disease — in which dysfunctional breathing may be playing a role.
