Embodying the Power of Nature: WATER (JALA)

Within Yoga and Ayurveda the five Elements are referred as pancha maha Bhutas as part of the Tattvas or aspects of Creation. These five elements at the macrocosmic level are responsible for the structure of the Universe; they are the building block of the material world. This weekend will focus on the Water element where you will learn the art of teaching Prana Vinyasa® - or Prana Flow® - as originated by the iconic Shiva Rea.

Course Information

Water represents our fluid body. The Water Element is everything in nature that is liquid.

In the Elemental Water Pathway of Prana Vinyasa you will learn to embody the fluid connectivity expressed in the movement patterns of Eka Pada Raja kapotasana. Embodying Water is to cultivate a fluid, creative, connected, smooth flow to support the flowering of swadhisthana (sacral) chakra within one’s body and life.

During this weekend you will explore and learn how to teach JALA – Water Namaskar and two Water Sequences, Solar and Lunar, part of Elemental Prana Vinyasa Mandala.

You will be introduced to the Water Element from a yogic and Ayurvedic perspective.

The day will begin with setting the theme and ‘bhav’ (feeling state) for the Water element, Water Meditation, Reflection, Journalling. Followed by a long Sadhana (practice).

Saturday morning will be dedicated to Solar Water Sadhana/ Practice and integration lab before lunchtime. Solar Water Peak Asanas: Mandala Urdhva Dhanurasana. Variations and modifications will be offered to suit all levels.

Sunday morning you will explore a Lunar Water Sadhana / Practice and integration lab before lunchtime Lunar Water Peak Asana : Mandala Ustrasana – fluid backbends. Variations and modifications will be offered to suit all levels.

The afternoon is dedicated to technical labs: participants learn how to expand their elemental (WATER) teaching vocabulary, teach each other in small groups and learn intelligent sequencing and the art of hands-on adjustments within the context of the PranaFlow three part Vinyasa method.

There will be time for a session of Mantra Japa and longer Elemental Meditation in circle.

This empowering and evolutionary vinyasa weekend, is the only one of its kind being offered by the UK’s first Affiliate Prana Flow Trainer®, Alessandra Pecorella. Alessandra will offer you the tools to embody the energetic flow of yoga on and off the mat, deepen your practice, and learn to share vinyasa for all levels.

What our students say

I am so glad that I found Alessandra’s courses. I took the one week Intensive “Wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda“ course, offered as part of Aditya Yoga School 300hrs. It was fabulous! I learned so much on the course and although I already knew a little about Ayurveda – Alessandra’s approach was different. I was so inspired with the course and felt that it enabled me to incorporate changes in my diet and approach to many things, sleep, health, my yoga practice etc. A couple of months later and I have still been able to continue with what I have learned..I have even managed to loose the last few stubborn pounds I was carrying which I know was due to what I learned on that course. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alessandra to any yoga student – experienced or otherwise. Rosemarie M on Embodying The Flow: Prana Vinyasa Mandala of Asanas, January 2018
