Karen, Author of 'Compassionate Mindful Inquiry in Therapeutic Practice, A Practical Guide for Mindfulness Teachers, Yoga Teachers and Allied Health Professionals. (2020)' utilizes her Iceberg Model of Inquiry to give teachers a framework to confidently guide inquiry with ease. Karen has contributed hugely to the evolving field of mindfulness and compassion, highlighting the importance of not seeing these practices as isolated, but as two complementary and interrelated aspects of the lived experience.

This one-day workshop explores the profound benefits of conducting inquiry after guiding meditation practices. Through experiential investigation of the interconnected nature of mindfulness and compassion, students will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of themselves and how their relationships with others can be enhanced.

The workshop is suitable for anybody who is interested in self-inquiry as well as those that teach meditative practices and supervisors. The workshop will provide ample experiential opportunities to practice inquiry with peers using the Iceberg Model of Inquiry and its stages as a framework;

The workshop will cover the following topics:

• Exploring the benefits of inquiry
• Learning to appreciate the relationship between mindfulness and compassion
• Relating the process of inquiry to teaching practises
• Demonstration of how using the Iceberg Model of Inquiry provides a useful framework for teachers
• Looking at how inquiry questions could arise and at what stages?
• Deepening understanding of the self and improving relationships with others leading to sustainable transformative change

The workshop will also give students an opportunity to buy a copy of Karen’s signed book.
