Embodying the Power of Nature: EARTH (BHUMI)
Within Yoga and Ayurveda the five Elements are referred as pancha maha Bhutas as part of the Tattvas or aspects of Creation. These five elements at the macrocosmic level are responsible for the structure of the Universe; they are the building block of the material world. This weekend will focus on the Earth element where you will learn the art of teaching Prana Vinyasa® - or Prana Flow® - as originated by the iconic Shiva Rea.
Earth represents the ground beneath us, food and our physical body. Earth element is everything in nature that is solid.
In the Elemental Earth Pathway of Prana Vinyasa you will learn to embody grounded, relaxed presence expressed in the movement pattern of the great hip opening Mudras Bujapidasana and Visvamitrasana. Healing our connection to the Earth is part of retrieving our ancestral connection to the land, our bones, gravity and presence of being. Open hips, open awareness.
During this weekend you will explore and learn how to teach BHUMI – Earth Namaskar and two Earth Sequences, Solar and Lunar, part of Elemental Prana Vinyasa Mandala.
You will be introduced to the Earth Element from a yogic and Ayurvedic perspective.
The day will begin with setting the theme and ‘bhav’ (feeling state) for the Earth element, Earth Meditation, Reflection, Journalling. Followed by a long Sadhana (practice).
Saturday morning will be dedicated to Solar Earth Sadhana/ Practice and integration lab before lunchtime.
Solar Earth Peak Asanas: Astavakrasana and Visvamitrasana. Variations and modifications will be offered throughout.
Sunday morning you will explore a Lunar Earth Sadhana / Practice and integration lab before lunchtime.
Lunar Earth Peak Asana: Supta Eka pada Sirsasana.
The afternoon is dedicated to technical labs: participants learn how to expand their elemental (EARTH) teaching vocabulary, teach each other in small groups and learn intelligent sequencing and the art of hands-on adjustments within the context of the PranaFlow three part Vinyasa method.
There will be time for a session of Mantra Japa and longer Elemental Meditation in circle.
This empowering and evolutionary vinyasa weekend, is the only one of its kind being offered by the UK’s first Affiliate Prana Flow Trainer®, Alessandra Pecorella. Alessandra will offer you the tools to embody the energetic flow of yoga on and off the mat, deepen your practice, and learn to share vinyasa for all levels.

What our students say
Alessandra kindly offers the opportunity for yoga teachers to attend the Intensive modules, part of the 300hrs Course @ Aditya Yoga School, in their “stand-alone” capacity, which is how I came to attend the Advanced Chakra module. Alessandra’s creative, fluid approach, yet firmly rooted in the long-held traditions and ancient roots of yogic teaching, was so inspiring I now taken the unexpected yet exciting step to fully enrol on the 500hr TT course! I am thrilled to learn more under the compassionate guidance of Alessandra and would unreservedly recommend this course to anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge and spice up their approach to teaching yoga. The Advanced Chakra module offers a very comprehensive guide to the chakras, Alessandra expertly weaves the many aspects/ levels of yoga together so you leave the week long module with a much better integrated approach to your understanding of the chakras. It was an awe-inspiring week and I am still happily marinating! Thank you. Maria B. on Embodying The Flow: Prana Vinyasa Mandala of Asanas, January 2018
