Course Description

In this 9 hour course based largely on Beth's book, "Yoga Therapy for Fear, Treating Anxiety, Depression and Rage with the Vagus Nerve and other techniques" we will gain an understanding of easy, accessible methods to find stability in a world that often looks chaotic and frightening.

The tools are used by yoga teachers and therapists and well as psychotherapists, school teachers, parents and those in healthcare.

These methodologies of movement, breath and meditation have helped students and clients with panic attacks, self-loathing, numbness, chronic pain and other long standing health issues and have aided their work with talk therapists by creating a crucial sense of safety in the body.

Meet the Teacher

Beth Spindler began teaching yoga in 1976 and has been utilizing yoga as a healing modality since. She holds the highest certification in the field of yoga teaching and therapeutics.She has trained hundreds of teachers and practiced yoga therapy in hospitals, universities, ashrams, retreat centers, clinics and schools. Her book, Yoga Therapy for Fear, Treating Anxiety, Depression and Rage with the Vagus nerve and Other Techniques is recognized in the Yoga therapy community as a text for those studying in the field and is enjoyed by teachers and laypeople worldwide. She is a frequently featured writer and presenter for Yoga International and leads retreats worldwide.

She has practiced yoga since childhood starting in the Sivananda tradition and had the honor of living with her teacher in Eknath Easwaran's community in the early 80s, she then studied with Senior Iyengar teachers for many years where her love of yoga therapy began. Later she discovered the joy of fluid movement in Anusara, Ashtanga, and Prana Flow, Bihar as well as Kundalini Yoga. Her background in yoga therapy also involved training in Phoenix Rising and Viniyoga of Desikachar lineage. She lived and practiced yoga therapy at the Himalayan Institute where her studies were in Sri Vidya Tantra. Her studies in science and medicine as well as ancient healing arts keep her busy most days.
