Tantra is an ancient wisdom tradition that has a thriving, sustainable worldview, especially supportive in our modern times. This immersion helps students weave Tantra’s worldview, as well as its tools and practices into what is known as Tantric Hatha Yoga, and its three stages of practice: Moon, Sun and Fire.
Rather than a linear path of growth, you are invited to experience how the Moon, Sun and Fire practices work together in unity for a holistic approach to overall progression on the path. Whether you join to serve your individual needs or the needs of your students, these teachings are the key to unlock the potential of practice to awaken clear seeing, unsurpassed joy and self-actualization.
Join senior teacher and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Tanya Boigenzahn, for an inspiring, informative and revolutionary 3-part series. Moon Practice: Steadiness and Reflection
Part 1: Thursday, Nov 18 – 16.00-19.00
Working with the Moon is essential in stilling the hyperactive, spacey and anxious qualities of mind that keep us forever moving from one thing to another, caught in the trap of overwhelm, excessive busyness, and lack of vital energy. In the Tantric approach to yoga, we activate the lunar force to inspire healing, inner peace and the power of reflective mind in order to see ourselves clearly. These practices stimulate the nurturing energy that allows us to remain calm in the midst of turbulence, steady in the midst of change, and the ability to see what’s really going on under the surface. Moon practices help us to get a better understanding of who we are, what pushes our buttons, and awakens hidden intelligence and intuition of how to move beyond our limitations.
- Purification tools to steady the mind, and balance energy
- Asana to allow the unconscious to become conscious
- Pranayama to allow the mind to move towards stillness
- Meditation leading to a calm, clear, tranquil mind
- Chanting to awaken the lunar force within
Sun Practice: Arise and Shine
Part 2: Thursday, Dec 2 – 16.00-19.00
Solar practices link us to and build prana, or life force. Leaning into the moon for stability, solar practice grows our pranic capacity, passion, vitality and allows the energy to rise. At this stage, we become more sensitive to our inner and outer worlds, expanding our energy which gives us the drive to enliven whatever is in our heart’s desire. It allows us to manifest and connect. Solar practice leads to shining, both internally and externally, and is the foundation for moving towards Tantric Hatha fire practices.
- Purification tools to build prana and increase energy
- Asana to increase our sensitivity to energy
- Pranayama to build and hold energy
- Meditation leading to expansion of energy
- Chanting to awaken the solar force within
Fire Practice: Reveal and Glow
Part 3: Thursday, Dec 16 – 16.00-19.00
With the support of the Moon and Sun, the fire stage of practice evolves by a steady mind gained by lunar work, and increased energy gained by solar work. Here our inner fire sparks to life into what we call our “Force of Spirit.” Some would say that this awakening of Spirit within is the ultimate goal of yoga. In this immersion, we’ll use this stage to revel in when we need to dissolve hidden inertia, and practice trustful surrender to something greater than ourselves. Healing for the spirit, these practices activate a subtle force of fire leads to extraordinary perception and awakened living. We can come back to this stage time and time again to receive its blessings on our path towards liberation and joy.
- Purification tools to polish the temple of the body
- Asana to invite a connection to the sacred
- Pranayama to allow the mind to move beyond thoughts
- Meditation leading to a radiant mind, one with Source
- Chanting to connect to the divine force within
