SHARING KNOWLEDGE

Justine Baines

Justine is a Registered Nurse for Adults as well as Registered Health Visitor and holds a Bachelors of Science with Honours.

Proud to have been a nurse in the NHS for over 25 years, working in the Accident and Emergency department before becoming a specialist community public health nurse (Health Visitor) where my passion for early years has allowed me to become the lead on Infant Feeding across Manchester for our Health Visiting service. I believe that by empowering communities and sharing knowledge of early years and baby development, we can better support families in their transition to parenthood. The development of a nurturing relationship between mother and baby, or indeed any main caregiver, is pivotal in ensuring positive interactions that will last a lifetime. Learning to understand how babies communicate and interpreting their behaviour is a skill and offering the opportunity to learn through sensitive techniques is a privilege. The use of Baby Massage and Baby Yoga allows me to disseminate these skills in a therapeutic way. Learning to understand babies developmental readiness and the ability of the caregiver I hope to empower others and create supportive communities.

For anyone wishing to either teach, or further, or learn restorative yoga, I cannot recommend this course highly enough. A true inspiration of a course which has opened so many new doors to learning." David Hoyle on Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, September 2016
